Jeddah Mothering

Jeddah Mothering Services was started by Sumrana in 2013. She has been raised in Jeddah and is a mother of two. For as long as she can remember, Sumrana has been passionate about serving women which led her to a degree in psychology along with a certification in psychological counseling.

After the birth of her first child, Sumrana realized the importance of being educated about pregnancy and birth, especially  here in Jeddah. As the quote from Diana Korte and Roberta Scaer, authors of A Good Birth, A Safe Birth, goes: “If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any.”

She trained with AMANI Birth as a Childbirth Educator & Birth Doula in 2013, and has been mentoring mothers since then to get rid of their fears and replace them with confidence, trust and empowerment.

She strongly believes that the expectant mom and dad are fully capable of making their own decisions and she helps them do it by providing evidence based knowledge when they are overwhelmed by the information, right or wrong, on the internet.

After establishing herself as an expert in childbirth education, Sumrana is now also trained as a W.H.O/UNICEF Breastfeeding Counselor and loves to help new mothers by troubleshooting, boosting their confidence and providing them with unbiased support to get in touch with their innate ability to nurture their babies.

Sumrana is currently training as a Bereavement Doula to support mothers who experience pregnancy or infant loss but hopes she never is in a situation to put her training into practice.
