Police Clearance and Work Experience Certificate Attestation
POLICE CLEARANCE: (OPTIONAL)
WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE ATTESTATION:
The general understanding is that if there are any issues, you won’t be able to leave the country and that is in itself a green light. Please confirm with your embassy, if it is required. In my own experience, in Australia, some employers/jobs require a police clearance, especially, if you worked overseas. I choose to chase up the police clearance to be clear. Here are the steps that I had to follow for a police clearance.
Get a police clearance request letter, from your embassy.
Book an appointment a day before with MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with this agent near the Ministry. It is a corner shop. Appointments get booked out if you arrive on the day, by 9 a.m., so 24 hours before is handy.
The next day, pay SAR 40/- with this agent and go and get the letter stamped by MOFA.
Request for police clearance at the specific police station near Islamic Bank. IMPORTANT: You must book an appointment on Absher and this can be tricky as you have to find the right service. Here are the snapshots for specific instructions. Courtesy: Maria Khan
Hand over the MOFA stamped police clearance request to the police. You have to wait for at least a week. They will give you a receipt with the date for pick up.
This is the specific location where you hand over the letter.
7923 King Khalid Road, An Nazlah Al Yamaniyah District, Jeddah 22332 2270
012 601 5600
Pick up the police clearance from the police station. Get it stamped again at DFA. Efficiency tips: Book 2 appointments with MOFA for the next step, at the same time.
Get the MOFA stamped Police Clearance translated by the same guys for SAR 70/-. Efficiency tip: Ask the translator to get it electronically attested by Chamber of Commerce, at the same time as translation service. Make sure the translated version has all the correct information with correct spelling.
Get the Chamber of Commerce attested/English translated Police Clearance attested by MOFA.
**Work experience attestation can be done with Chamber of Commerce first and MOFA, at the same time as Police Clearance. Government work experience letter may not need Chamber of Commerce attestation – please confirm).
