My Personal Mission is based on my passion and love for Islam. Without speech, and through our actions, and by bettering ourselves, we can show the true beauty of Islam to many – As taught by the prophet Mohammed PBUH, “None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.” Related by Bukhari & Muslim
And two quotes that have changed my life:
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” ~ Gandhi
“If you’re not making someone else’s life better, you are living yours wrong.” ~ Kushandwizdom
During my 22 years living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, [and 6 years in Egypt], I have become aware of the growing need for a friendly support group for expats (Muslims & non-Muslims of all nationalities). Due to a major shift in culture, and being far from family support, there is a growing number of women facing depression and/or isolation. There is also a rising concern for the children left behind through divorce, and these women going back to their countries.
When sitting with my friends the realization of the huge need for different support groups, social community activities, and resource centers to be established for the expat community in Jeddah became even more clear. Our combined personal missions for the betterment of humanity and our individual friendships gave birth to this support group. One of our prime goals for this group is the establishment of tolerance of all religions, all nationalities and all social classes while improving our mutual quality of life and creating an active citizenship and stewardship.
We have full realization of the many challenges faced by expats living in Jeddah, and together we feel we can begin to minimize these challenges
