My parents always used to say, ‘One day you will be a parent and your kids will do the same thing.’ Of course, as a kinda threat like “What comes around goes around” πŸ˜²πŸ™ˆ They were hopping I would see things from there perspective and know how they felt about my choices, and change my behavior. πŸ™Š

Okay ladies, here are some responses I received on social media. The names have been removed to protect the “innocent”. Lol

[1/2, 10:07 AM] The New Generation, in my day —–, Also, “Do as I tell you, not do as I do.”
    [1/2, 10:05 AM] “When you’ll become a parent, you’ll understand.”
[1/2, 10:05 AM] “You’ll understand when you become a parent.”
    [1/2, 11:10 AM] “Once you’re 30 you’ll understand why.” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
[1/2, 12:00 PM] “You prefer your friends over us.”, “Where are you going again”?
“I want to see what you’ll do when you get married.”
[1/2, 1:24 PM] “What are you going to teach your children if you behave this way?” 😹
[1/2, 2:43 PM] “If all your friends jumped off a bridge then would you too?
[1/2, 3:08 PM] “Oh yes that is classic.”
[1/2, 5:20 PM] “Actually… now think I am ruining my kids. 😞 They say it to my kids too.” #familywhybelikethis
    [1/2, 5:26 PM] “Oh no.” πŸ™ˆπŸ˜
It’s the worst when your parents remind you of some…details of your past you don’t want your kids to know about…
like how you used to talk back for example 😝
[1/2, 6:05 PM] “Even now cannot if to my mum it’s like, – u going to hell straight 😁
[1/2, 6:05 PM] “lol… I take a different approach… when my daughter talks back, and then tries to deny it,
I just say “I was your age one and used to talk back, so I know what you are doing and know your intention “…. drives her crazy
[1/2, 6:44 PM] ” There’s a difference between being rude and being outspoken. Personally,
I do like to have honest feedback from my kids, and see some personality in them, and their own critical thinking and I encourage that.
Provided no one offends anyone. Children should be allowed to express their own opinions feeling safe that they’ll be heard
and understood, and not despised for that πŸ‘
[1/2, 6:47 PM] πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ« Indeed…and we all know that 30+ years ago most of us would have been swallowing teeth if we talked back.
Parents then weren’t afraid to backhand their kids then.
[1/2, 6:52 PM] I know what you mean. We like our kids expressing their views too. In fact, we encourage it but… then there is the Tween age…
and the β€˜mean girl’ attitude age that they’ve begun to show lately… I can see that it is their age. They are testing their limits to see how we react.
But my mum and dad think I am bringing them on with this… I guess as we get older, we forget the less important things.
My parents only remember how β€˜angelic’ we were. πŸ˜‚ Thankfully, I remember how β€˜naughty’ I was.

Everything that my parents used to say to me, when I was young. I say that to my youngest sister now and she hates me for doing that. πŸ˜„
Anytime she does something that I was not allowed to do .. I have a story for her πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜…
